Liz Newton (b. 2001, Fort Worth, TX) is a visual artist whose work zooms in on elements of the familiar everyday, using focus and blur as a tool to allude to a realm just beyond our reality. She holds a BFA from The University of Texas at Austin.
Her work has been featured in group exhibitions at The Mexic-Arte Museum, The New York Academy of Art, Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking, and The Visual Arts Center at UT Austin. She is a recipient of the Will Cotton Scholarship Award (2023-2024), the SURP Academy Scholar Award (2023), and the Tarrant County College South Campus Honorable Mention Award (2019).
Before beginning her MFA at the New York Academy of Art, Liz had the honor of working as a teaching artist for the Mexic-Arte Museum, teaching screen printing to grade school students in Austin, TX.
